With it's deadly talons and savage beak the eagle is the ultimate high flying predator. The bald Eagle is found in North-America where it hunts for fish in the rivers. The Golden eagle is found in Scotland preying on smaller mammals like rabbit and deer. Bald-eagles build nests of up to 4 meters wide.
But how do eagles pinpoint their prey at such great distance? How is it that where we humans would only see a blur they can see crisp detail? The answer is all in the eyes. Eyes have light sensitive rods and cones but our eyes only have a small fraction of them. In fact the eagles eyes are so large they can hardly move in their sockets so the bird must turn it's head to change it's view point.
